The Bren showing area is underlain by Late Paleozoic and Upper Triassic sediments and volcanics of both the Upper Paleozoic Stikine Assemblage and the Upper Triassic Stuhini Group, which are intruded by a diverse suite of intrusive rocks (ranging from Late Devonian to Eocene), most commonly syenitic. The volcanic rocks vary in composition from mafic to felsic and display a wide variety of igneous, pyroclastic and volcaniclastic textures. They consist of intensely folded and sheared tuffs, agglomerates, lavas and bedded sediments.

Samples collected on the Bren claims in 1990 were generally from quartz carbonate shears, quartz veins or pyritic gossans. Disseminated pyrite, minor chalcopyrite, bornite and sphalerite were the only visible sulphides. Sporadic malachite staining was observed in several gossanous zones. The highest gold and silver assays, 0.03 grams per tonne and 11.6 grams per tonne respectively, were from sample 92359 which also assayed 0.85 per cent copper (Assessment Report 21361). The sample consisted of quartz with pyrite and chalcopyrite. Malachite and sphalerite are indicated on the sample map near this location as was a quartz-barite vein. Rocks types in the vicinity of the sampled area are pyritic mafic volcanics with andesite to the northwest (Figure 4, (Assessment Report 21361).

WORK HISTORY

In 1990, A program of preliminary prospecting and sampling was carried out by Kestrel Resources in order to evaluate the mineral potential of the Bren property. A total of 25 rock samples were collected.

In 2013 Geotech Ltd. carried out a helicopter-borne electromagnetic (ZTEM) and aeromagnetic geophysical survey for Romios Gold Resources Inc over the Newmont Lake Block, comprising parts of the Newmont Lake property (Geophysics Report, Assessment Report 35016, Appendix VI). Over 21 mineral occurrences were covered by the survey including the Bren occurrence. Romios Gold was then able to define priority geophysical targets in the area depending on various combined geophysical signatures including, in the case of the Bren, coincident Magnetic target M6 and Conductive target Z2 (Figure 20, Assessment Report 35016).

In 2018, Romios Gold Resources Inc successfully completed an airborne magnetic and VTEM-Terrain Time Domain electromagnetic survey over three of the Company's most prospective exploration targets on its Newmont Lake property. The three survey blocks covered are referred to as the Northwest Zone, Ken Zone and the Dirk claims.

In late 2018, Crystal Lake Mining announced that it had signed a of Letter Agreement with Romios Gold Resources Inc. for an option to acquire a 100 per cent interest in the 436 square kilometre Newmont Lake Project from Romios Gold.

In 2019, Crystal Lake conducted a drill program, mostly on the Burgundy Ridge prospect area (104B 325) and on the Northwest deposit.
